New features on Mosuki

Posted on Monday 30 October 2006

Today we released a new version of Mosuki. We’ve spent most of the last month fixing bugs and cleaning things up. As part of this task, we completely re-wrote a core piece of our infrastructure. What does this mean for you? Well, unless you’ve encountered a weird bug or a rare error case, you probably won’t notice this round of changes. But it is a very important release for us, because we will be able to fix new bugs and add nifty features much faster now.

We took a long, hard look at the processes for joining and being invited to the system, and ended up completely rewriting that as well. If you’ve been invited to Mosuki in the past but had problems joining, you should now try again. The new account creation process is much simpler, and much less error prone.

There are also some improvements to the user interface here and there. The event list page now shows events grouped by date. The list view tab on your calendar lets you navigate forward and backward in time, and it lets you add events from that page. Discussion forums now let you reply to a message right in the page, and you can also reply directly a the user with a private message from the forum. Photo editing is a little bit nicer. The calendar now recognizes all-day events and puts them in their own row on the day and multiple-day views. Lastly, a number of layout bugs in Internet Explorer have been fixed.

Logging in, and all other actions that send your email & password, now use secure connections.

As always, if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions at all, please let us know — the last improvement to mention is our nifty new page for user feedback.
