A friend of ours once referred to the Mosuki interface design as “a kind of surrealist hacker-chic.”
Needless to say, that’s not the look we were going for.
Several months ago, we began a site-wide interface redesign. For this release, we kept the same basic color scheme, and focused on better organization. We looked at every page and decided what were important elements, and what were peripheral items. Almost every page has been rewritten. Now, finally, after a huge amount of work, we think it’s ready for you. There are almost certainly bugs, so please let us know when you find them. And please, send us your comments!
Some highlights:
- You can now subscribe to .ICS calendars on the web, and upload .ICS files, and they will appear on your calendar.
- AJAX-y goodness now means you will stay logged in if you leave the “Your events” (formerly the calendar) page open.
- You can add an event quickly and easily from any page.
- The daily emails now include a list of events on your calendar for that day, as well as new events in your network.
- We’ve integrated Google maps onto the place page.
- Inviting people to an event, adding new friends, and editing your groups are now much easier.
As always, there are some major technical improvements too, which are too boring to list here. Oh, and we’ve made the site about 30% faster than before.
We hope you like it!
This power lets us implement major features that we didn’t plan for originally, like adding iCalendar feeds, discussion forums, scenes, places, and a myriad of object-specific user preferences to the site.
